ADHD Evaluation & Treatment in Blacksburg, VA
Local, evidence-based psychiatric care in Blacksburg and the New River Valley.
ADHD can affect attention, organization, task initiation, efficiency, academic performance, work and relationships. A good evaluation also considers other psychiatric, medical, sleep and lifestyle factors that can produce similar symptoms.
A broader clinical assessment
Our evaluation considers developmental history, current symptoms, impairment across settings, prior treatment and relevant co-occurring conditions. When useful, standardized rating scales may supplement the clinical interview.
Treatment after diagnosis
If ADHD is diagnosed, treatment is individualized. Recommendations may include behavioral strategies, environmental changes, psychotherapy or coaching, and medication when clinically appropriate.
Scheduling an evaluation
Our office can explain what an ADHD evaluation involves and how much time to expect for the initial appointment. Hannah Ingram, PMHNP-BC, who evaluates and treats ADHD, can also be booked online through our scheduling partner Headway.
