J. Todd Holland, DO, PhD

J. Todd Holland is a board-certified osteopathic physician and psychiatrist licensed in Virginia, practicing in Blacksburg. He founded Blacksburg Psychiatry in Spring 2023 after serving as a psychiatrist at the Amen Clinic in Seattle, a nationally recognized center specializing in brain health and psychiatric care.

Dr. Holland's clinical focus includes:

  • Treatment-resistant depression, with Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy
  • Adult ADHD, including comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and medication management
  • Anxiety and mood disorders
  • Substance use disorders, drawing on extensive experience with individuals affected by addiction

Dr. Holland holds a PhD in Biophysics and completed post-doctoral research in Biophysics, which informs a scientifically rigorous, evidence-based approach to psychiatric care. He emphasizes whole-person, integrative treatment — combining evidence-based psychiatry with attention to nutrition, physical activity, and overall wellness — to help patients achieve lasting improvement, not just symptom control.

At Blacksburg Psychiatry, Dr. Holland works alongside a dedicated clinical team to provide comprehensive evaluation, medication management, and TMS therapy for adults across Southwest Virginia.
